Default Need help repairing sliced heater hose line

As seen on shBox:

http://shbox.com/1/heater_hoses.jpg

The piece of line I'm trying to repair is labelled as #3 in the diagram. In order to replace the broken section, I am trying to remove the entire coolant line. I can't get at the bolt (labelled as #2) to remove the line as my headers are in the way.

If there's a way to replace this section of hose without removing the entire line, I'll take that approach! I thought about getting a garden hose type repair kit, but that sounds like a temporary solution.

Cliffnotes: What is the easiest way to replace the broken section of rubber coolant line?

EDIT: This is the broken section in question.

Find out what the ID is of the hose, go to a parts store and pick up a hose splicer and some hose clamps.

Yeah I'd cut out the bad part, take it to the store and get an insert and two clamps that fit.

Yeah I would cut out the damaged portion, go to a parts store, and pick up a barbed hose coupling and some band clamps.

When I first bought my Formula the guy couldn't figure out why it was running hot, his belt was cutting the heater hose, I just disconnected the old hose and ran a new one in its place.
