Can you provide more information on the "hall effect pickup" in this model, and possibly some pictures of the internals? In my experience, hall-effect sensors are essentially magnetic field sensors, whereas most, if not all, Optispark units use an optical sensor. Thanks.

So, it's a hallyspark? ?? Is that even possible? This sounds more like a description used for a normal distributor. In that case, it makes the marketing attempt a bit odd (in that it has the wrong information).
The description is not unlike many of the other low buck optis out there (except for the hall effect thing). I guess there will need to be some guinea pigs out there to give some feedback.

I believe that hall-effect sensors produce a square wave, so it may be possible to get the necessary signal without any kind of conversion. I will be amazed if this distributor actually has something like that inside.

I'd like to see this project completed: https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...r-preview.html - It could be named the 'magna-spark' since it has magnetic pickups, but 'opti-eliminator' works too! Maybe Wicked94Z will see this and give us an update on that thread.

I was thinking of all the little slots in the normal opti shutter wheel and how a hall effect sensor was going to duplicate that (inside an opti).

Hello,
We are sorry about the description, It was what we received from procomp themselves. Come to find out, it was a description for a standard sbc distributor. we have pictures of the inside and out of the actual procomp opti. It uses an optical eye like the factory optispark.

My main question is, who made the Optical Sensor that's in this unit? I don't see
any stamps, so wondering if you have this information?

At least they aren't hiding the fact that it doesn't use the Mitsubishi sensor.

We asked and all we were told is that it is made offshore.
But it has a 1 yr warranty.

Thanks
