Weird smoking issue
So, my brothers 94z, is smoking at idle ONLY, and the smoke is white, and has no scent of oil, but it smokes alot at idle. Its stock with a CAI and flowmaster catback and gutted cats.
We replace the fitting in the pass valve cover with a PCV valve,(curiosity mainly)and it blew it out, so we put the fitting back in.
The engine has 130kxxx miles on it, and it does have some blow by, but still makes power and runs good, we are in the process of looking at rebuild kits and parts, because its going to need it eventually.
any input guys?

Get a coolant pressure tester. Read instructions. Pull spark plugs. Apply no more than 18psi to cooling system with pressure tester. See how gauge behaves. Leave tester with pressure for at least 10 to 20 minutes (if it holds pressure). If it doesn't hold pressure you know you have a bad head gasket. Rotate engine and see if coolant spills out any of the plug holes. What does the oil in the engine look like?
The PCV valve may have been overcome by too much pressure forcing it shut and blowing it out. It also may be time to do a compression test or leakdown.

Forgot to ask if it's loosing any coolant? Even though it's not getting into the oil doesn't mean it's not blown. Could have just found a path into one or more cylinders. Honestly I think it's more a blow by problem if I were to guess, but cover all bases...
