The Gear Swap Has Begun!
Hey everyone,
Long time I haven't been on this board. Been finishing up my undergrad in sports nutrition and prepping some clients for some bodybuilding shows along with doing my own training. Anyways I have a 97 z28 with 2:73's in the back in series 2 carrier. Ordered the following parts today:
1. 3 quarts Royal Purple 75w90 synthetic oil
2. Ratech 4111 - Solid pinion bearing spacer (replaces the crush sleeve)
3. Richmond Gear 831044M - Mega Ring and Pinion Install kit (includes everything even axle bearings and seals)
A few questions:
1. Do I still needed limited slip additive even though my RP rear diff gear oil comes with limited slip in it?
2. What gears do you guys recommend (brand wise) - Have been looking at Motive High Performance (orange box), Yukon, Richmond, Strange (pretty torn between them all)
3. Planning on getting a TA Girdle Cover with the Stud bolt kit (Good Idea while I'm in there getting this thing done?)
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
