Pretty much a stock motor deserves stock plug wires (new if yours are beat, of course). Larger diameter wires can be a hassle to run and offer no benefit over OEM wires for a stock application. For plugs I like the Autolite 104s or the NGK TR55s. Copper electrodes are cheap, platinums last longer.

How often do u like to replace your plugs? If once every ten years then u will need platinum whatever. If u don't mind changing plugs 'bout yearly then copper plugs will do. For a stock engine u won't see big differences in performance. If u run a hot multi-spark ign box then u will need to replace plugs more often.
I have ran Autolites in copper, stock AC delco (the cheap platinum version) and now Champion in platinum. NGK seem a bit expensive so never bought those. All have worked fine. I bought my car with over 110k mi and it had the stock plugs - still ran fine but when i changed plugs the gap had disintegrated to over 0.060" from wear on the stock platinums.
I tried the summit generic wires for LT1 and had one burn a hole. Now using the ACCEL black wires for LT1 with ceramic boots - really like those for reasonable price.
Hope this helps,
