Default Lt1 Temp gauge climbing. Bad sensor or???

My 95 z28's temp gauge will climb while sitting still after only driving for 5 min. Car has new radiator and fans. It climbs into the red while still then as soon as i start moving it immediately drops to normal. Fans work fine. Could it be a bad sensor or what???

Live data from the PCM will tell you what the temp is and what the fans are doing.

if you are that worried, you could put a lower thermostat in and lower the temp when the fans kick on.
