Default Lt1 tune up

Ok I want to do a tune up on my 1996 formula ws6. I already have the intake and water pump off. What else am I supposed to take of to get to the spark plug?????

????, you took water pump off to get to spark plugs?

Your "Opti Spark" aka distributor is behind water pump if that is what you mean. There are 3 bolts holding it on. pull the plug wires, top electrical connector and the 2 vacumn line off and remove the 3 bolts and the Opti comes off

might want to go get a Haynes Service book for your car at most auto part stores and read

Lol I can't recall the water pump being in the way of a spark plug change, alternator and starter yes but not WP lol

Yeah, make sure you get new gaskets for that water pump and clean the block and pump before you attached it again or else you'll leak and destroy an opti-spark.

Also, if you're yanking wires from the opti be sure to label them.

You should be able to access the spark plugs on the drivers side fine but the #8 plug is the pain, it's been too long since I've replaced mine to remember what the easiest way to access it is.
