Default Rag Joint Part #

whats the part number for a stock replacement? Im not sure that I want to go with a solid or delete it due to the steering wheel vibrations. Reason im replacing mine is because there is about 10 degrees of play in the steering wheel. Let me know if a rag joint can help somewhat to steering wheel vibration as well.

Find any 98-02 f body rack at a pick n pull, newer and no rag joint, and room for an LS swap in the future. That's what's on my car.

Hey Matt did the Lsx rack and sterring shaft bolt right up to the kmember, steering and ps hoses or did you have to modify anything? I already have the LSx sterring shaft so if no mods are needed I'll just buy an LSx rack and install it, thanks.

I used the rag joint eliminator cuz I couldn't find any ls1 steering shafts. Wish I had found one though cuz its smaller and simpler and just as much work to change.

That's what I installed 3-4 years ago...no change in vibration.

Do you gain any vibration with the solids?

I didn't. I only replaced it because I thought the rag joint was worn.

I went with the LS steering shaft also, best $45 I ever spent on the car. Do a search and there are a few good threads on how to re-clock the shaft which is very simple to do. Bolts right up and I have absolutely no vibration and the steering feels so much better.

I can vouch for the Unbalanced piece, really helped with steering slop with no extra vibration.

I did this to a 2000 S10 i built. But I cut the reag joint off and used a U-joint.I thought about doing this to my 94 z28 and was affraid to do it.I would think you can use a U-joint on the Z28 mod. What do you all think.

Warriorcustoms,,you can cut the rag joint off your s10.And buy a u-joint froms joes welding and bolt it right up.Its a very simple mod to do.Ive had my s10 done 6 or 7 years now.Its a common s10 mod.

Same here - it eliminated ALL my car's steering "slop" and it did not add any vibration.

My stock unit appeared to be fine / tight / without issue before the upgrade as well, but (given the change) it must have been somewhat loose, even though I could not perceive any motion prior to the upgrade.
