why is the Corvette lt1 more powerful?

I'm sure others would be able to elaborate more, but I noticed on a 95 Vette motor I bought that the underside of the intake manifold was different, the heads were the better of the two aluminum castings, and the mains were 4 bolt instead of two.

^^lol
Doesn't the vette have dual exhaust with dual cats and better manifolds?
I would guess it's all in the exhaust, then exaggerate the vette a few ponies and underrate the fbody a few ponies.

Engine makes the same power, the only deference is the the vette air intake and exhaust, pull the engine out of a f-body and a vette put them on a engine dyno and you would yield the same #s.

Lol weight of the car has nothing to do with horsepower. Weight of drivetrain pieces like flywheels, driveshafts, axels, and wheels can effect the % of drivetrain loss from the engine to the wheels, but just because a car is lighter doesn't mean it has more horsepower.
Like mentioned above, the engines are identical between fbodys and corvettes (with some differences like the accessory locations, line routings and such) but inside they're all the same with the exception of the 4 bolt main vs 2 bolt mains, which does nothing for horsepower.
The additional "15-25" horsepower comes from the corvette's air intake system (larger intake, straight shot, less resistance, bigger filter) and exhaust system (better flowing, better manifolds, true dual exhaust design).

FROM WHAT I HEAR the Camaros were around 300hp and the Vette was around 312 both were underrated at the factory

I agree its the better exhaust and better intake.
But ya know things can get outa hand at GM. The sales dept needs more hp to market the corvette so they just write in the corvette brochure what they think they heard the dyno shop technicians say. Then they get a lame brain (or 2) from the cleaning crew to say he heard the shop say it made more hp too. Then every wanna be manager and technician is saying the corvette LT1 is the more powerful motor - no one can find the source anymore and who cares if it sells more vettes.
