Depending on his weight, I would guess its between 1500 and 1600hp flywheel (!).

Legit question, would anyone else think that the LT1 was the strongest factory smallblock ever(not talking giant turbo diesel truck motors and big blocks)? Its the last of the iron block traditional SBCs, with high nickel content - all those years of practice apparently paid off. Just a shame it is so bore limited...with a 4.1" bore and some SB2.2s we could have 800hp NA LT1s roaming around.

The weight was 3200. I would say that's a good estimate on horsepower. I would have to find a calculator to maybe get an average. Ty tech feels its making about 1400/1500 at the tire. Hard to say. Tyree did his homework on the block. We should be ok till about 1900 HP, then we are pushing the metals. The new piston package he used relieved a lot of pressure on the piston and rod also. New injectors and pump next few weeks will be installed and Im shooting for 4.56-59 at 155.

Stephan you need to post up a idle and reving video. It sounds absolutely nasty. A least 4x it blew someone's hat off while he was doing a burnout. These guys work hard and I foresee high 5.5x next season. Stephan also makes the best meals at the track ever.

Josh, thanks for your help that weekend. I have to get a video of it at idle.

Congrats.

Since I saw SB2.2 heads brought up what does N20Dave run since hes running a 396 with those.

That's real old school man, that car hasn't been down the strip in years and AFAIK never made an all out pass.

It was a nitrous combo, but last I knew it ran 9's NA during shakedown passes and never sprayed a big shot at the track. Made north of ~700hp on motor...not too bad considering LT1s don't really have the bore size to properly use SB2.2 heads. He actually posted a year or so ago, but is not active at all.

I had his build thread and photo album bookmarked, but the host switched and the link doesn't work anymore.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day on CamaroZ28.com a guy named Mindgame on the board built a 383 or 396 with the very first Sb2 head(I think, I know they were older Nascar heads). Was a stick car, was a street car he drove it regularly and it ran in the 9's on motor on pumpgas.

Those heads are getting rare.

Congrats Stefan, the car keeps hauling *** the few times I've seen it and seems to be getting faster all the time.

I remember mindgame, I'm wanting to say he ran a 15 degree gm head, but that's been over 12 years ago lol
