600 fwhp 385ci? What top end?
I have a 13.4:1 forged 385 I built this year, but ran out of $ for the top end after it was all said and done. I want to plan the top end so that I can save for it and do it once. I have a custom LE Lunati ground cam and was originally planning on LE ported 21* TFS heads with ported intake, however I am starting to wonder if Comp CNC AFR 210 would be better? Also, would a single plane be beneficial at that power also?
Here is my cam, which I would like to keep as to stay hydraulic: 110 LSA, 243/251 .614/.621 with 1.65 rockers.
This is a weekend/Autox/RR car, not a drag car, with the exception of the occasional trip to the local 1/8" mi track for fun.
Is 600fwhp even possible with 13-13.5 compression, E85, above cam, and ANY heads/intake?
Thanks!

I was thinking of the 21* heads due to being able to run more compression, than the 23* as I have SRP flat tops (in hindsight I should've went small dome for more compression). If they should make 600hp with everything else I'll stay on original plan with that route.
How about the intake? Would a fully ported LT1 intake work, or is it a restriction at that point? What about the stock. MAF?

Yeah, the bottom end is forged Eagle crank, internally balanced, ASP balancer, 6" Scat rods, SRP Pistons, Total Seal rings (gapless top), Clevite H bearings, machine work by Jeff Taylor Performance. The bottom end is good for it.
I just want opinions on what top end to make ~600fwhp with the bottom end and cam I have now? Thanks!

Yeah, maybe I'll do that, he was extremely helpful with the shortblock build with my questions, recommendations, and everything. At the time I didn't have the funds left over to buy a proper head/intake setup to match the improved bottom end/cam. I would like to do the top end right and get the most power out of what I currently have.

I'm glad that you mentioned Jeff Taylor Performance. I did a search and found that he's only about an hour from me. It's hard to find LT1 builders anymore, and ones that are close. We have Zimmerman's Speed Shop in Greensburg that does great work and are great people, I just don't know how much LT1 stuff they've done. Thanks for the info!
