Default California emmisions, can figure out check engine light

Hey guys I'm having trouble passing the sniffer test in california. Failed the first test due to a faulty egr p0400 came up during test ! . So I put a brand new one in, couple days later I get a p1441 evap purge during non purge mode, ended up finding the valve that connects to the charcoal canister in the back left fender of the car was completely disconnected. I reconnected it but didn't swap anything in the evap except for old dry rotted hoses. Now I'm getting a p0507 code high idle speed. I'm stumped because I replace all vacuum connectors and all vacuum lines. Even removed the throttle body and cleaned it out. I think one of the vacuum purge valves in the system might be stuck open causing some sort of vacuum leak effect ? Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated as I'm anxious to be able to drive my camaro again.

1996 camaro z28/ss 124000 just had used motor swapped in due to rod knock

Forgot to add that my rpms are at 1000 in park and 800 in drive

Sounds like you need to replace the evap purge solenoid.

Yea I have a feeling it's my evap system that is causing problems. I'm waiting on a throttle body gasket, but I'll swap that solenoid when I put it back together and see if that gets rid of the code

I can't delete any of the emmisions stuff california is really strict on that, plus my car is all stock so something must be wrong if it's throwing this code for excessive idle speed.

Do you think that a bad evap purge solenoid would cause a high idle? Seems kind of weird

I ended up taking the throttle body off , giving it a good cleaning, and replacing all 3 gaskets. No more p0507 so far. Also replaced purge solenoid because it ended up being bad too. Thanks for the help!

Ya the evap being stuck open can certainly cause a high idle. Just like a vacuum leak. Glad you figured it out.
