20 in wheels on 95 Z28?
thinking of putting on 20x9 American Racing Razor chrome wheels and 245/30ZR20 XL Sumitomo HTR Z III lower profile tires. Tirerack says this is fitted to my 95 z28 but have heard going over 18" not recommended. Any experience with 20 in wheels re fit and performance? thanks

Performance and 20 wheel should never be in the same sentace when talking about a 4th gen. 17 are a great wheel with the correct tire like a 275 up front aNd a 295 or 305 rear tire

I had staggered 20" Foose Nitrous on my '01 SS. Looked awesome on it but when I tried and similar setup on the '96, I passed, not sure why it looked so much differtent. It handled great but you feel everything in the road. I also had an issue with the a$$ coming out from under me in corners when a bump was hit, much worse than with a staggered 18" setup. Lack of sidewall on that suspension maybe??

LOL!
The passenger side front had a salad shooter.
It handled fine.
So, I'm guessin' that four identical 20s wouldn't hurt. It looked sharp! (On the Driver's side)
Not sure I'd recommend it for ride comfort, as it was like riding on rocks... but it sure gave you a sense of what you were driving on.

^Yep, and you get all the benefits of the cushiony ride ride of a slammed low rider truck These cars are not known for their supple, Cadillac like ride quality, even with the little stock 16" wheels anything over 18s and you will feel EVERY bump and it will track ruts in the road like crazy with tiny short sidewalls and have funny handling characteristics because the stock suspension was never meant to handle it. You can pick up a donk SS/caprice project pretty cheap though as mentioned and run 20's bare minimum (if not 26's!) Besides, 17" performance tires are FAR cheaper than 20's not to mention, better performing "performing" being the operative word here!

20s on a fourth gen will do you no good for performance or comfort. sure, if you buy the RIGHT 20s, it might look sharp. but most 20s available for these cars will make you the talk of the ghetto. the cars are not designed to run 20s, and really, i don't think they even look good in the wells. not to mention you're talking $$$ to get good ones that could probably be spent on other better upgrades for the car.
in other words...
don't do it!
