Bolt ons???
Hi guys. I have a 96 z28 with 3.42 gear, yank ss3200 stall converter, pacesetter shorty headers, hollowed out stock y pipe, and stock cat back. I pull the stock air box and run a metal cold air pipe to where the stock box is at the track.the best I got all motor was 13.73 at 104 with a 1.7 60ft. The best I got on the spray 125 shot is a 12.03 at 114 with a 1.7 60ft. My question is what are the worth while remaining bolt ons that I have left to do and in which order should I do them. Also I did these time on street tires. So what bolt ons should I do and which on next is pretty much my question. Thanks

Thanks a lot ******. I am shocked about my 60ft times since I am still on street tires. And I know what your talking about on the spray I am jetted on the rich side since the car has 203000 miles. I was thinking about doing a cam and 1.6rr but I just don't know where to get a tune in New Jersey for an lt1. I just didn't know if I should do a cat back before the cam and 1.6rr.

203k mi...well you certainly are on the back end of that motors life....and spray is certainly not going to extend it.
you have a stock tune now?
might want to just have fun with the motor as is because if you put a cam in it with that mileage chances are it will spin a bearing soon with the increased power & rpms it will see. You really want to re-bearing & ring it at a minimum if doing a cam.....and then head work
if you still have stock springs, new ones would help spin it higher but again...spinning a 203k mile motor higher is not going to extend its life much...may end it

Oh I know I pushing my luck lol. I think your right have fun the way it is till the motor goes or just put a tire under it and run 11s if the 10bolt will hold it. I do have a tune I made up leaving everything stock but shift points shifting at 5300,line pressure, and emissions deleted. I don't know how much I can tune on the spray. My goal for a tune is to have someone make me a couple so I can switch the tunes in and out because it is my DD.

I too am shocked at your 60' number.
Your mph is good, which combined with a 1.7 60', would easily put you in the 12's NA. Something is not adding up.
I think there's more to gain in the catback than changing headers.
Just install a cutout for now and get your 11 sec run on the 125 shot

Ya I am a little mad about my motor times but I never really ran it with the converter and gears I did one pass with all my mods on motor and it was after a night where I went through a whole 10lb nitrous bottle with my nitrous tune still in it. So I am sure I could get more out of it on motor but I don't think I will be anywhere near 12s on motor.

Cutout. Ditch some weight. Spare tire & jack. Back seats. Aluminum drive shaft. Ditch the stock muffler and tips, run a single 3" inlet/outlet Magnaflow Magnapack with one turndown tailpipe.
What wheels & tires are you on now? You don't really need better tires if you're cute a 1.7 60' but maybe some dedicated lightweight track wheels... With skinnies up front.
The cutout and weight reduction should be worth enough to get you in to the 11s if you're already running 12 flat. With 200k on the motor, I'd try to stick to weight savings for those few extra 10ths... and not add much additional power/stress to the motor.
