Default What static timing for LT1 with HEI

I'm putting an LT1 into a 4x4, its running a carb intake with my existing TBI throttle body and an HEI distributor, I've got a keyed damper and timing pointer on the front of the engine, do I static time it at around 8-10 degrees like a gen 1 engine or do LT1's use a bit more advance with the reverse cooling? thanks for any info.

Stock TBI spec is 0* or TDC....Knowing the aluminum head LT1 and the spark map it uses vs the TBI spark map, I would set the timing about 8-10*BTDC. Will give you about 32-34* total timing on most stock TBI chips.
