Default electric water pump freeze plug issues!

to make a long story short I fucked my old water pump not long ago and got me this new ac delco unit, took the shaft and impeller out to put the ewp back in but the hole seems to be a little bigger and the freeze plug just slide in. the freeze plug is the one that came in with the meziere Wpump and it did fit my old pump but not on this one. new pump is the one on left side.

Dunno what to tell ya, the castings are different judging by the numbers. I gutted my stock WP and the freeze plug needed to be hammered in. Added some JB Weld to the back and it hasn't leaked a drop. Try to source a larger freeze plug or use the old WP housing.

old wp housing is cracked beyond repair. Went to 4 different local auto parts with no luck. The one I need just needs to be a tad wider. what size would that be!

Go to the parts store and have them measure the old one with a dial caliper. Then look in the freeze plug book for a larger size. I have also seen people JB weld a quarter into the front side of the bore, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I used a quarter or 50 cent piece. Its been like 10 years and holding fine..I dont remember if I used JB weld or silicine. I believe just silicone. There is a write up somewhere on doing this.

lucky me I went to bennet auto supply and one of the tech guys happened to own and lt1 and gave me the size I needed it, unlike autozone and all their school kids working over there. they are absolutely clueless .
