Default 24x swap, coil mount locations.

I'm in the midst of knocking out the EFI 24x conversion. I'm trying to get ideas on where to mount the coils. Obviously most have mounted them on the valve covers but if you've ever seen my engine bay...that's not exactly my style. I remember seeing someone fabricate a mount to fixture them down beside the oil pan. Any long term hazards with that setup? Heat? Any first hand experiences?

Any pictures would be appreciated as well.

I am doing the conversion myself and i got coil relocation kit from Nasty Performance. It mounts under stock cowl:

That's a nice kit above and seems like its priced pretty well....I have the efi connections billet valve cover kit, which is nice, but would have preferred under the cowl.

Whew bookmarked that! I mounted mine to the valve cover using studs, what a pain in the *** anytime I want to take the valve covers off. At the time though I didn't want to spend a few hundred dollars on the brackets offered and spent about $20 instead.

I was going to say under the cowl, Thunder Racing had a kit when they were around but some one posted the Nasty Performance one. You can get the coil pack extension harness if you wanted to fabricate your own bracket. On my 93 I have them on my Valve Covers, it works but it looks cluttered and on some of them, they get in the way when you're swapping plugs. No big deal.

I wished I had went that way the first time I took the valve covers off mine. When extra cash is available the NASTY performance kit is what I'm getting.
