Default dash harness in v6 to lt1 swap

hey guys im back from a 2 year hiatus of not tinkering with my beloved 94 Camaro which has been sitting for 4 years anyways its a v6 to lt1 swap. just wondering if its ABSOLUTELY NECCESSARY to swap out the dash harness that was included with the body and engine harness out of a 94 z28.... I really don't don't to tear the dash apart! the top panel is already cracked!

Nope. The engine harness will plug right into the dash harness. I did this on a 95 to 95 and a 93 to a 95. I think if I remember correctly I had to run one wire to the DLC from the PCM.

Please elaborate on the DLC to ECM wire.

Also, should I use the Z28 cluster I got with the harnesses? or will the v6 one work?

Look on shoebox's website, there are a bunch of schematics to help find the right wires. I can't remember off the top of my head.
