Been out of the LT1 game a long time, need advice
Been driving my 02 Camaro a few days and Ive really got to thinking about what direction I want to go with my 96 and go back to work on it. Last time I worked on it I finished the 10 point cage and picked the block up from the machine shop getting it line bored from the billet caps I put on. That was around 6 years ago. Goal was a fast streetable car with a massive shot of spray. Now messing with turbos the past few years(and still have not bought pistons and set a Comp ratio) Im thinking about going that direction. Any tips advice? What about tuning? I have TEA stage 2 heads, ported intake(if I even use the stock intake) forged crank/h beams, set up for solid roller, TH350 from ATI and a moser 9 incher.

With the NA potential a SR setup has, I'd go ahead and build a stout NA setup and hit it with the spray like you had intended.
Unless it's a really radical setup, a high-end SR valvetrain setup isn't necessary to make big power with boost.
The 24X setup is a conversion for the LTx engines to run a LSx PCM and coil-on-plug setup. Replaces the opti. If you have a good working opti-based ignition system in place and don't plan to rev beyond 7k I've never really seen the necessity of spending the money on it, but some people really like it. Your call.

24x is basically your ls1 computer. the conversion will set you back about 1k, but then you'll be able to use hptuners or any other ls1 tuning setup. you eliminate the lt1 computer, opti, etc.
to be fair, I think you'll spend more cash getting the lt1 running than getting on the junkyard ls bandwagon that is making some crazy power with turbos. take a look at some of the builds on the forced induction side.

Thanks fellas. I have so much for this LT1 Im definatly going to stay with it. as far as the 24x conversion what all do I need from a LS1 doner? i know PCM, Coils and harnes going into the pcm, However can I interface thelt1 engineharness to the ls1 pcm sockets? Where does this conversion get its signal for cam position?

Thanks for all the input. Do I have to have a pcm out of a LS1 car? Can it be out of a truck, van ect with 5.3 or 6.0? If so Or if not what years are best if any. Also are any stock coils better than others?

get a 411 pcm. it's known to work. truck one's will work as well. if you go to eficonnection.com i think he has a few part #s of what he's tried.
here's the link to my repin when I did a few years ago...
