It really depends on how much power you really want to make and how much money you have to spend. A good set of longtube headers is a great way to start but if you have emissions that could be a problem. If not it's a great way to make the car louder and sound better and add power. Pacesetter headers fit pretty decent and don't cost an arm and a leg. A set of roller rockers is worth 10 or so horsepower and are easy to install. If you go with a 1.6 ratio you will likely need new valvesprings just for extra safety. A good tune is worth the $150 or so as well. Gears, Tq converter if auto. I mean there is a lot of stuff to be done and can really make these cars much more fun to drive. There's plenty of guys going low 13's high 12's with bolt on cars. Add a cam and you're mid to low 12's fairly easy.

Big question is what are your goals, what do you want out of the car?

If you want sound and power increases, just get some longtubes with ORY and put an electric cutout behind it...+20 HP with the headers alone and another +5-10HP with the cutout open and LOUD!

Pretty much any goal or build include exhaust. Look into header options and do some research. For a catback, I love GMMG and Borla.

My old 95 Firehawk my dad now has sounded mean with no cats and a TOTL. He'll love it with longtubes and an ORY. Just like another Hawk I used to own. Jet hot LT's with ORY and a TOTL. Awesome combo.
