Default Best tire for me?

Hi I am looking to get a tire for the drag strip. I am not going to drive with this tire on the street. So I was looking at Hoosier quick time pros. But I here you can't run a bias ply out back and radial up front. I was planning on just getting a tire to put on two stock camaro rims and use my fronts. So will a drag radial be better for me or can I use the Hoosier. My car has a 10 bolt still 3.42 gears and a 3200 stall yank converter. The tran and motor are stock besides that. And I spray a 125 shot. Best I did so far was 1.7 60 and a 12.03 at 113 mph. I spray it 5 tenths into the run. I main want the best tire I can get with out buy fronts for bracket racing. Thanks.

You can run the bias plys out back but you will be faster on a radial. I like my hoosier radials, they hook well and are a touch lighter than et streets.

If you can hook the radial get some Hoosiers or mickeys

I like my 275 pros but you'll more then likely need a 26" tire with that 3.42 gear.

I have bias out back with radial up front, no problems. But with your setup you'll want the radials Hoosier and M/T both make good radials.

Thanks guys. So I can run the bias plys out back I plan on using stock rims so would I need a tube with bias plys. The tire I want is 26lt-9.5-16 QuickTime Pro. The radial I want is p255-50-16 Hoosier drag radial. I am also considering the similar mickeys to those two. You guys say the radial would be better but I here for bracket racing which is what I want to do the bias ply is better. So for bracket racing which would be better there is no suspension on the car besides BMR tubular rear control arms. Thanks

Why not get suspension and some decent wheels for drag tires?

Atco as in NJ?

I am getting drag tires this week still don't know which yet but I am. Also I don't think I need suspension yet if I could 1.73 60ft on street tires but you might be right and I do. The car is my dd slash cheap racer I don't want to dump a lot of money into the suspension. Thanks for the input though. And yes atco Nj

I have always used bias slicks with street tires in front. Radials have lower rolling resistance and will MPH better and potentially ET quicker, but bias tires are more forgiving.

A 28x10.50 ET Drag is overkill on my car, but it has allowed 1.5 short times with true street suspension, the only "drag racing" suspension thing I have is airlift bags in the coils.

If you go with bias plys you don't need to run tubes. I've gone as low as 13 psi on my M/T ET Street bias plys, 26-10.5-16. They don't spin on the rims. If you run tubes you'll have to screw the tires to the rims.

Old trick to get them to not leak and for the tire to not move on the rim is to use hi tack.
