Default MAF Sensor Problem for LT-1

I was recently having a problem with my MAF Sensor. Eveytime I would delete codes including the P0100 the SES Light would come on a split second later and it would only come up for the P0100. This morning I bought a new MAF sensor off a guy on craigslsit here in town and when I installed the new one and cleared the codes hoping the problem would go away but when I cleared the codes the SES lightcame on a split second later again for the same code. Before this happen I recently installed a nitrous elbow. When Installed it that's when the problems with the MAF code started coming on. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated it. Thank You!

(Guy said that he bought it 2 years ago and was selling it because he had no use for it anymore.)

broken or shorted wiring?

coupling hose from the elbow to the throttlebody folded under allowing air to get in?

perhaps take the elbow back off and retrace your steps?
