The person who put the shortblock together about 3 years ago is wondering what the hell the noise can be at this point also.

Sorry for the thread jack!
I like it. It's different and looks like less than it really is. That ticking has to be valve train related. It's too slow to be bottom end.

I picked one up from Pepboys when I was there just because and would looks subtle but good on a setup like that. Look V6-ish but not have a toothpick for a turndown LOL.

Finished product. You can see how I cut off the passenger side of the Borla Adj catback and capped it. I could change the exhaust routing and route the exhaust on passenger side and get rid of the cross car muffler.

You're running 2 mufflers now? I wonder how that sounds? I'm contemplating the same thing to keep the noise down. On a 4" all the way back I don't think I'd lose any power either.

I like the set up with the merge and all.

^How does the car handle with the watt's link? I've contemplated getting one someday.

Unless you are autocrossing or road racing, I would not waste the money on it. It feels more planted and confidence inspiring than my adj PHB I had on though.

I'm happy with the way the car handles with the watts link, sway bars, shocks and springs. But with all these mods, it points out that the diff will not hold up to the added grip on race tires.

That looks like tons of fun. I hope to be doing this kind of stuff soon.

It's a blast. I will never care to drag race again....it's too boring.

Depending on your driving skill, shocks/springs, sway bars, Adj PHB, and a race seat will be a GREAT start to become happy with autocrossing.

I got some videos last night, but I placed the external mic too close to the exhaust tip so it was breaking up. I'll get some after work and upload them.

I just started racing this past season, and the car got a seat, LS1 brake swap, koni shocks, strano springs, watts link, race tires all over only about 7 events...So yes I went full throttle into this racing thing, but I kept outdriving my car. Now it's down the diff and some better brake pads for next season.

Hmm that is about where I am at suspension wise, front ls1 brakes with braided lines, strano sway bars, konis with BMR springs, chromoly lcas, adj. panhard, long torque arm with relocation brace. Corbeau seats with Schroth harnesses. I just have never been to a autocross yet or track day.

I was supposed to go to a track day at Gainesville a few years back, car was dropping pressure bad at WOT though so I cancelled on going to that and ripped the motor out.

I like to go drag racing but that has never been the primary focus for my car, I like tearing up twisty roads with it. It rains a lot in FL, I even dropped $140 or $160 whatever it was for SRP pedals, I got the grid style as my wet footwear would slip off the brake while trying to heel-toe.

Dial in some camber and toe and hit the autocross track! I only got the watts link because it was a good deal on CL. Same with the slicks...good deal on CL, otherwise I would still be running street tires.

I don't have too many outside car videos. Mostly videos from the gopro stuck on the side of the car.

Here you can see the diff giving up and spinning/smoking right passenger tire around RH turns.

Got that video of the new exhaust? Also, you went with a 3.5" set up right?

Nope it's dual 3" midpipes to single 3" borla catback that has been altered into what it is now.

Sounds good. Really deep and toned down. I like it.

Yes it is very deep. The external mic had some trouble picking up the deep tone at idle.

I also found out that it sounds great if I take off the hooker muffler and only run the midmount bullet. So that will be my summer "loud" setup. I was amazed how civil and controlled the exhaust sounds with the reworked merge and midmount bullet. Granted...it can get LOUD at WOT, but its actually a tone and not just a bunch of noise.

I like it. I'm gonna do this except 4" all the way back out the right and dual 4" bullet race mufflers in series. One on the mid pipe and one before the tip. Should keep the tone down and mellow. Plus it'll make my car even more unassuming in look.

That's a good plan.

How much power you make to need 4" pipe? I did a 3.5" single on my 04 GTO and I thought that was big...4" will be laaarge lol

A 3.5" starts to restrict power at about 468hp at the fly wheel (about 395rwhp). I'm above that now (with a single 3" and my over axle pipe is actually 2.75") and still need to do my tb and intake (worth 15-20rwhp).

To add to that my 414rwhp was with a 300rpm discrepancy on the dyno (which corrects to about 430rwhp), possibly a slipping clutch.

With a 4" I'll be slightly on the big side for my current power, be sitting nicely with the tb and intake done up, and I won't have to replace it again in a couple years when I decide to throw some juice in it.
