PCM swap for a older T/A
Hello, quick question.
I just thought of the idea of doing a pcm swap to see if the car would run more efficient. I thought about swapping out my old PCM for a 97 PCM from a 6 speed Trans Am. I'm trying to get passed 115 mph since that's my top out speed(Someone told me on the forum that you can swp out the pcm for another to cure this problem. But I don't know how accurate that is.) and get ride of the codes in the process. Just wanna know thoughts and opinions. '96 Trans Am A4 2:73 gears

That 97 m6 pcm won't work with out a tune.. So just get your 96 pcm tuned however you want and call it a day..

pcm4less should be fine for your needs or maybe someone on this forum who tunes obd2 LT1s might offer.

Yeah no offense but you really have no need to be doing over 100 on public roads anyway. A stock LT1 like yours would maybe trap 98 MPH or so in the 1/4, you got a ways to go before you reach 115 which by then would need a tune. I've done 140 in my car but that was scary and also stupid on a public road. I was younger then. The LT1 brakes have nowhere near the stopping power to slow you down if you had to mash the brakes. Just sayin.
