OBD 2 adapter for 95 lt1
I have obd 1 system with obd 2 plug and want to read codes. I know there's a adapter piece out there but can't seem to find it. Anybody know.?

If you are looking for a cable to use with software, just about all the people that sell cables have one. You just have to look at their descriptions to pick the right one.

If you are okay waiting for a piece to ship from China (OBD head to solder to), search for Scan9495 on the site, download the files and Gary has a PDF with instructions on making a cable for a 95 car for about $16. I did it and mine works great.

I don't want any software.. my repair manual mentioned an adapter to convert the obd1 scanner to obd2 scanner head. I would prefer that or the special scanner I been hearing about. I was hoping to get some part numbers ### ..

I think most people with 95's go the software route since it's a weird setup...i'm not sure what your google search must have turned up, but there's a lot showing up for me if you search "12 pin to 16 pin obd adapter"

They don't make such a thing (that I have ever seen). Scanner manufactures usually offer a whole cable with the correct end. If you wanted a part number, you should have provided the brand of scanner you have. You can easily adapt a 12 pin cable like this.

Those two jumper wires are great if you are in a pinch but after a while it started bothering me because they would get lost or pulled out too easily while data logging so I did the following and it cost me less than $5.
1. go to the salvage yard
2. get a proper OD1 connector from another car
3. wire it in somewhere discrete like your glove box

From my understanding, that is an OBD-II scanner. Won't work on your car even if you adapt the wiring. The Innova 3120 that some people try to use is riddled with issues giving out the wrong DTC information (proven by Gary Doug who wrote the scan9495 program). My advice is not to use Innova.

I know this is an old thread. But those adapters will not work for these cars. The 16-pin end connections are wrong. You can use these adapters however for making a 12-pin to USB cable by cutting off the 16-pin end.
