Default MGW Short Shifter Review.

Well I've had 6 camaro's. Pretty much tried every shifter with stock, cut or short stick installed. I've been driving a camaro since 1997 and just love the car. I recently installed a MGW Shifter and long story short its smooth, inspires confidence to shift fast and very rare to miss a gear. I thought I would have to cut the stick to make it shorter but I find it the perfect height. I wish I knew what's causing rattles and grinding in my tranny when I press in the clutch but shifts are smooth and precise and wow what a nice shifter. Excellent quality, you can tell someone who made this shifter cares and enjoys doing what he does. Awesome shifter.

I had a MGW a for a short time but didn't care for how tight the gate was, back to a OEM a Hurst. As to your noise, if it's not the TO bearing look at the pilot bearing for excessive wear.

I like my MGW shifter a lot - it is a really high quality unit with great feel. I did cut my stick down (actually had another one made).

The quality is second to none, I run one of their shifters on my C6. Awesome piece. Glad you're happy with the F-car version.

I also have the MGW on my car. Its definitaly a nice piece. It was a little stiff at first but once you put some miles on it, it loosened up. About 200 miles it felt more "normal" and user friendly. You pretty much have to be NOT paying attention and ignorant to miss a shift with the MGW. Its very hard to even try and miss a shift.

I personally wish it was maybe 1/4 inch longer. Its a little too short for my liking but thats really my only complaint. Its nice for straight line shifting. Very precise. Driving "spirited" in the mountains and trying to shift fast while turning gets a little hard since it is a fairly stiff piece. Sometimes its hard to tell where 3rd is while doing it. Overall, great shifter and wouldnt trade it for nothing.

I almost bought an MGW for my Formula when I first got it in '08 but ultimately went with the Hurst. The hurst works great but the boot that surrounds the shifter totally fell apart and crumbled after about 4 years. Other than that it's fine. If it ever gives me trouble, i'll probably get the MGW.

I love my MGW. I've missed 3rd gear once in 2 years. Once it's broken in its really bullet proof.

I'd run the MGW hands down if I cared enough to replace my B&M.

Ran one in a 99 GT, 03 Mach 1 and a 04 GTO.

MGW is the best shifter by far.
