Default Stuck locking pin...

I'm tryna do wheel bearings on my 95 formula but can't remove the axles. I removed the locking pin bolt and confirmed that It's not broken. I tried tappin it a little and it did slide but I'm worried that the springs are holding the pin. I'm nervous to hit it all the way though, help please!

Just pull it out. There is nothing holding it in.

I just did this for the 3rd time a couple of weeks ago. The springs aren't holding it in. Just grab a 3\8 extension and use it with a hammer to tap it out. Don't tap it all the way or it will bind against the rear housing. It should break loose. You might want to move the axles back and fourth to help loosen it up. Once you hit the pin about halfway out turn the axles so the pin is coming out towards you. You should be able to pull it out by hand. Have one of those magnetic pickup tool just incase you hit it too far. The tool will also help you remove the c-clips.

I usually just tap it until I have about 1cm or so sticking out, then rotate the carrier and grab it with some pliers. It will come out easier if you twist it while pulling.

That's what I always did as well. Tap it out like a 1/2" , rotate the carrier, then grab a pliers or vice grips and pull.

ok I got it out. I was just concerned because I practiced on a rear end at the junk yard and see slipped right out. so hopefully it goes back in easier than it came out lol.

Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's not. You just have to be careful with the tough ones because if you hammer it out too far and it gets stuck against the back of the housing you'll have to wrestle with it.

Another thing you can do is hammer on the end opposite to the pin bolt. That way when the hole in the pin is exposed you can stick a screwdriver through it and pull it out.
