Default LT1 Feels like its running on 4 cylinders, barly stays running

Hi i have a 96 Firebird with and lt1, I replaced the water pump and the opti-spark seal, after i put it back together I tried starting it and realized that the drivers side wires were not put on right and I got a nice backfire through the intake, so i corrected the issue, and now it will barly start, it feels like it is running on half of its cylinders. I am stumped and could really use some help on this one.

What gapped plugs did you use? The recommended is NGK TR55 gapped at .50 I've heard of some guys claiming that when they run differently gapped plugs it causes all kinds of weird issues.

Did you index the opti correctly when you installed it?

The plugs are delco rapid fire and are gapped properly, im pretty sure the opti is indexed properly, because if it misses that tab and goes into the round hole, it doesnt seal in properly, and I triple checked that it was indexed properly

Either the opti is out of whack or your wires are still mixed up, or both.

Quadruple check those wires. It's real easy to mess it up. And also make sure they are seated properly. Obviously something changed when you took it apart if it was running fine before. Go back and cover all your bases.

yeah id check the wires again.. Opti from DS bottom up are 1735, and on passenger side are 2864, make sure the boots are all snugged up, i know from experience they are sometimes difficult getting them all the way on with such limited space.

I checked the wires last night, they are in the right spot, and check for spark at the coil and I have that as well, really good spark, I'm thinking I somehow messed up the cap and rotor but I'm sure how

What was wrong with the opti? What brand of replacement opti did you use?

After taking the old opti apart, i found a ton of oil in it, I am not sure how long it has been in there, but i guess when i took it out and layed it flat, it must have done something to the optical sensor, but i was in a rush and auto zone was the only place the had an opti in stock, and so far it has been treating me really well.

Before you put on the new autozone one did you take it apart and put loctite on everything? If you decide to be proactive and do that, also tap the weep hole on the waterpump and put a 90 degree fitting on it with some vacuum tubing routed below the opti so if it does start weeping, it won't ruin another opti.
