Default 1/4 Mile with 150 shot?

What would you estimate a 1997 Trans Am WS6 6 speed with 150 shot on Mickey Thomson Street Radials-275/50/15 at about 2000Ft above sea level? This will be first time at the strip so could I get a guess of what I should do and then what I can be able to do once I learn how to actually drag race the car.

These kind of questions make answers a shot in the dark, A lot of variables exist, your 60 ft, how fast you can shift, tire spin ect, so with that, anywhere from high 11-14's

^^This.

Tossing a shot on it won't equal some magical number. Like said, many variables. Drag radials aren't a good tire for a fast 6-speed car, they are too hard and won't give when you dump the clutch, specifically on a 150 shot. Hoosier QTPs are a good tire for a 6-speed car. Next, if your suspension is still stock, you going to be giving up some time there also. At minimum, a good set of adjustable drag shocks would be the best bang for your buck, look at Vikings. You didn't mention any other mods you have either. Is your clutch stock? That won't like 450+ ft lbs of torque being thrown through it, neither will that 10 bolt..

Benefit of the doubt, you might hit a 12.8 since I have no idea about your car. It should touch 11s if your car is actually setup.

Are you spraying off the line? Do you have a window switch? Do you have a WOT switch? Or are you using a button? Did you retard the timing?

I'm going to agree with SNM, 14s at 120, or broken 10 bolt and however long it takes them to tow you to the end of the track @ 5mph.

Who's not being nice? First time at the track, an m6 with a 150 shot on radials.

Tony, how have you been? Good to see you back.

Exactly, we're not being mean in any way, just being realistic. Don't want to get his hopes up that his first pass will be an 11.8 or something. There's tons more to the equation to get it down the track.

Running a 150 shot on a stock car with street tires and zero supporting mods sounds like a good way to hurt something.

I went a 12.41 at 114 on a 75 shot with street tires. Auto car though. But take that as you will. The car has 1.6 rockers and a cai.

^^^Close to this. Gotta get the launch down. Those radials aren't going to do you any favors unless you plan to slip the clutch and ride out a long way(you didnt mention anything about a built rear, full suspension, etc). Your best bet is to get in the nitrous forum and do some reading. Then buy a ton of spark plugs and make sure you read them after every pass. Better to take the time tuning than take the time rebuilding.
