Dumb Throttle Body Question
Is there only four bolts that hold the throttle body onto the intake? I took four long bolts out and it seems like my throttle body is stuck on. Am I missing something?

did you remove the hoses that are attached to it also?
yes, there are only 4 bolts that hold it on. If bolts and hoses are off, your gasket may just be sticking. It should pop right off with a "slight" pry but usually just comes right off

Yes all hoses and connections are free and clear. I tried prying on it pretty good with a pry bar and gave it a few smacks with a dead blow. It would not budge so that's why I thought maybe I was missing something. I'll have to try a little harder. As far as I know it has never been off the car.

Take two flathead screwdrivers and put on both sides, twist them instead of prying on them. Sounds like your gasket is not wanting to TB to come off. It eventually will though if the 4 longer bolts and hoses are off like you stated.

Had a chance to work on the car again. Finally got the stupid TB thing off. Tried my longest pry bar as well as some aggressive mallet blows to drive the thing off. It still would not budge.
Lastly, I decided to go against my instincts and hammered a flat blade screwdriver between the flanges at one of the corners and managed to pry it loose. That gasket was like cement between there!
Managed to get the intake off. On to the heads and timing cover. It all seems like downhill from here after fighting with the PS, AC, and intake.
