lt1 to ls1
now maybe someone can answer this for me... i have a 1994 z28 and i am looking to swap an ls1. Now i know this has been done before and I've read a lot on it but no one can answer my question which is can i take the engine cradle from an ls1 camaro and just swap the whole assembly into my 94 camaro? If i can do this what will swap from any year ls1 camaro to my 94? any more info would be helpful thanks!

I'd save a bunch of money and time and just sell your car and buy a LS1; only takes a day as opposed to weeks/months/years and thousands of dollars....
The transmissions are not interchangeable either. A true factory LS1 car would bring more money on resale than a Frankenstein engine swapped 4th gen too, something to consider. Not to mention they ride better and have better brakes from the factory.

I've done a lot of reading on this too bc I'm considering doing the same thing. From what I found the k-member is a direct bolt in and the hardest part in my opinion is figuring out the wiring harness part.

Yes that probably would be easier but I do not have the luxury... The camaro is my fiancés and its has some sentimental value as it was her dads and shes dead set on doing what her dad always talked about doing to it and I am tasked with finding an easy way lol I have considerd just swaping parts such as bumpers lights and interior to make an ls1 camaro look like an lt1 camaro but one seems just as tasking as another

Good to no that the cradle will fit and wiring isn't hard when you swap an entire harness from a donor car and the body harness if i am right someone makes an adapter for it if not I can sort that out no problem

K-member is a direct bolt-in. You also need the LS steering rack. The trans crossmember would stay the same as the current body car. The swap is actually pretty straightforward, I went from running LT1 to running LS in about 12 hrs.

What all did you do for the harness?? And does the cluster need to be switch and will the rear end work for the ls1 since its making more power or can I just swap it off my donor car

A 10 bolt is a 10 bolt from 93-02, they all suck lol. The 98-02 cars have a different rear brake setup though. But don't bother swapping them.

Most of us have a 12 bolt, 9", or a Dana 60. Strange, Moser, Midwest Chassis etc all have a f body specific versions of those axles. I have a Strange S60 in mine. People have also fabbed up a ford 8.8" as well.

No, corvettes are IRS and would take a hell of a lot of fab work to make it work although it has been done. They used a C4 vette IRS, but don't even consider it.

Depends on what you want it to hold up to. Hard drag launches - no.

I used a modified 2000 WS6 harness. I actually just removed it for an HP EFI.
If anything you'd want to keep the 93-97 rear brakes if you want to run 15" wheels at the track.
No you don't. Any 93-97 cluster will work. Mine ran the 93 cluster with an 0411 ECU with no issues, all lights and gauges worked flawlessly.
Vette won't work without MAJOR modifications (read IRS swap). S60, 12 bolt or 9".
You won't, it'll work. You will have to use a 98 Fbody LS1 OPSU and CTS though.
