Default Opti Timing Disk

I was doing a simple cap and rotor swap on my 60,000 mile opti while my motor is apart. One of the opti cap screws snapped while I was taking the cap off. While trying to drill out the broken screw the thin laser cut timing disk fell off onto my garage floor.

After putting the disk back on, it appears to not be perfectly flat. It is not bad enough where it is rubbing the inside of the pickup sensor but it has a little bit of a wave to it.

I hate to scrap this opti because it was working fine when I tore my motor apart and everything looked pretty clean on the inside.

Do you guys think it is critical that the timing disk be perfectly flat?

Nevermind I guess. Broke a rotor screw off flush with no chance of getting it out. Time to start shopping for a new opti.

Cool, thanks Travis! I'll keep it in mind if I don't find a new one for a decent price. I was not real happy with the way the bearing was fitting in the housing in mine either. Kind of seemed a little loose on the OD.

I was running a AIP opti for a while and have had great luck. They are a good price and made in the USA
