Default Flash OBD2 PCM to OBD1

I believe my 93 Z's PCM is bad. I can't find a replacement for a reasonable price. I have a 96 PCM and harness out of my other car but would prefer an OBD1 pcm so I can tune it myself without having to re-buy the DST. Can the 96 PCM be flashed to OBD1?

I'm trying not to spend another $100 on a PCM right now since I've run out of money on this thing.

No, you can't do that. If you could, nobody would be swapping PCMs to change between the two.

Thx, shoe. So I assume its a hardware limitation? I remember sending a PCM off to Madz for an OBD1 conversion but I didn't know the details, whether it was just recovered and flashed with a different bin or if it was a swap and he keep my obdii in exchange for the obdi. It was probably 10 years ago, 9 years too long for me to remember the details.
