Default Cruise Control Route

Does anyone have a picture of how the cruise control cable attaches to the metal heat shield on the driver's side front frame rail near the hard brake lines? I really need to know how it is attached and what clip I need to look for. Does it connect to the bolt that holds the metal heat shield against the frame rail?

It doesn't clip to the heat shield. IIRC, it clips to the plastic brake line bracket behind it.

So, the cable goes behind the heat sheild? The guy that put my engine in a few years ago did not put stuff back where it is supposed to go.

Yes, it should go behind the head shield.

Mine has a clip that bolts to one of the heat shield bolts, goes in front of the shield, up the side to the left side of the brake master cylinder(referenced as to sitting in drivers seat), then to the left of the brake booster, clips to the side of brake booster via another clip, then up above the booster and to the throttle body.

However, I'm not sure if that is how it was stock...I'll go through some old pictures before I ever touched it to see if I can see how it was....

Here we go, this is how it was before I ever touched it. Routed in front of the shield. Pinning it between the shield and car may allow the shield to cut into it over time.

If you look just above the clutch reservoir, you can see the sliver clip where it clips to the brake booster.

Well now I'm not sure about in front of or behind the heat shield. It's been a few years.

EDIT: Looking at one of my old build pics, it looks like I ran it behind.
