Crack on the back of the block
So piecing together my junkyard 383. Anyways I found two micro cracks on the back of the block. Here are some pictures.
Anyways, any ideas. Few welding shops are around have quoted around $100. However to do cast iron they need to heat it up. My engine is already together. Any ideas? Should I just bite the bullet and have it done. Jb Weld? Hopefully these can be fixed.

I don't think they need pinning, but it reminded me the first time I saw MachinistOne pin a crack. Was rather impressive to see how the crack was repaired. Here is one being repaired. I think the process can vary depending on where the crack is, but still impressive.

Ended up finding a cast iron welding shop. They were able to weld it up. Guy has done many engine blocks and cast iron transmission cases. No returns yet so hopefully $40 well spent.
