Default Lt1 headers and timing ?

Hey guy thanks for the add had a question and friend referred me to the site but I have a 94 lt1 camaro and it still has the stock manifolds on it I have a v8 swap kit for an s10 with a set of shorty headers in it I know it will bolt up my question is about the Clearence on it has anyone done this before did it work I don't want to sell the kit off or let it sit on the shelf if I can use it and also I know there's probably been a thread on here already but I know of a few people that had advanced/retarded the time on a bone stock motor and get it to perform better has anyone messed with a factory lt1 car and had any luck any input would be wonderful and thank you

Get a mail order tune, don't screw with the timing any other way.

Where would be the best place to get that I've herd of them but never really had anything to get one for and do you have to get a new tune every time you change someth(headers,exhaust,gears,etc...) or is it more like a plug and play type deal?

Headers are made to fit a chassis as much as an engine

When I had a mail order tune done on my old LT1 quite a few years ago, it was done by Ion from madz28.com Not sure if he is still in business. He did a premium gas tune where he adjusted the timing slightly to add more power. A tune isn't necessarily needed when exhaust components are changed, but will be required if rearend gears are swapped. It was money well spent. Of all the bolt-on mods, it was one that made a noticable effect on the car.

Oh abd custom hookup for non-correct headers will likely endup making them cos more than chassis specific headers with matching y-pipe.
