Default Will a 94 LT1 motor with 95 pcm and harness?

I just dropped my motor out of my 95 z28 yesterday and a friend gave me a 94LT1 to use while I do a rebuild on my motor. I know that the opti's are different on these years but can the 94 be used with my 95 harness and pcm if I use the 94 opti cable and the 95 ignition coil? Thanks for any help here. I need to get my car on the road asap.

Yes on the opti pigtail. The coils are the same. Should all work fine.

Thank you shbox. Can I swap timing chain covers and Optispark from 95 to the 94 motor too?

If you did, you'd also need to swap the dowel pin in the nose of the cam. The 94 would be too short because it's only long enough to keep the cam timing gear indexed properly. The 95-97 pin is longer and extends through the cam gear to drive the opti.

Bigger thing than the dowel pin would be the cam, itself. The pin drive opti protrudes into the nose of the cam. The early cam does not have the hole in the nose for the later opti to fit. So...you would have to swap the cam, too.

Thanks for the correction, forgot about that.

That would be the simplest thing to get you going until your other engine is ready.
