Default Sump fueling question

Whats up?

So im going with a sump fuel setup over the winter, mainly with the ease of being able to grow in size and making it a easy swap to go to a larger pump. But anyways, Im wanting to know has this been done or can it be done.......

Im wanting to keep my intank pump for the sole purpose of a fuel level reader. I know it can be rather difficult to tell how much fuel remains with a sump setup. I am horrible at wiring but I'd rather like to know is this even possible to do. So the question is "Can I keep my in-tank pump as a fuel level reader?"

Thanks for any info!

Don't touch it and it will continue to work? The purple wire feeds the gauge. Leave it as is and sump the tank. You will decimate all!

Yup, leave it all alone, hell ,leave the OEM pump in there if you want. Cap the lines and leave a vent line to a breather.

I ran a line from PCM to a large solenoid/relay for fuel pump in trunk. 10awg and less than a few feet of it. At some point I should add in a fuse to the circuit.

Cool. So just leave it as is? Simpler than I thought. I just didnt want the OE pump to continue to try and pump while the sump was doing so.

I tend to over think things. Almost seem to simple to be true....

Unplug the pump and it won't try to do anything.
