Default 600-800$ for a 4 bolt main convertion

i called a local shop today and they quoted me 600-800$ for a conversion depending on what caps I go with dose this sound about right price wise

Depends on where you live. here they wanted $400 labor and I supply the caps.

If I remember correctly...
350 for labor and machine (drill, tap, line bore)
200 for howards caps
100 for arp main studs
650 total

ive been looking at the Howard main caps that all say for chevy 350 on them are gen 1 350 mains the same as gen 2 lt1 mains and ive notice some say angeld sides are thouges for splayed mains thanks for all the help so far

Not sure what your looking to build but I run two bolt mains with ARP studs. I shift at about 6500, no problems with four years on this build.

The Howards pn is H350S. 10* splayed so less chance of hitting the water jacket.

i called them back to day they said it will probably be less they just they quote high I case they run in to problems

Are you staying naturally aspirated or are you going to a turbo/super-charger setup?

What he said hope to make at least 700 rwhp so I'll defiantly need a 4 bolt
