Default Is it possible to remove heater box while motor is in car?

Is it possible? I removed dash last night and was wondering. I dont really feel like dropping motor out. Just asking.....

I did it last night in my TA. All I did was move the pcm/tray to get access to all the bolts, interior was pretty much stripped already. I took the hoses out with the assembly as well so I didn't have to try and get the back clamps off.


Edit: nevermind, might not be the same for an LT car as it was for my '02.. my bad.

Should be a tad bit similar. But thanks for the input. I have a 97 that has a lot of LS similarities. I'll try when I get home....

Oh, sorry I forgot to update. After removing the dash, taking the heater out was a piece of cake. 4 bolts in engine bay, 5 bolts in the interior. Came right out. Now I need a dash pad and also ordering HVAC delete plate from MWC. I think that was a total of 50lbs of weight out. Maybe more......

I guess, it only took 2 hours and 4 beers to get it out. I was over-thinking it
