Default Green Dragon Burnin Rubber

So after 12ish years, my 1995 Pontiac Trans Am is on the road and almost fully functional. I still have some tuning to do, but it is running pretty good. I have only seen 3-4 psi but that was only at 3,800 rpm. I haven't found a road or track very close to me to really open it up (6300 rpm redline) to finish the tuning and see if I hit 12-14 psi. I think I may need a smaller SC pulley (it currently has a 4.5" and I may go to a 4.25").

For those that are not familiar with the car...
-385 ci LT4 10.5to1 with Lingenfelter ported heads and intake
-24x conversion
-Custom 12 rib Procharger F1A
-Custom dual 3" to single 4" back to dual 3" ss exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers
-255 in tank, Kenne Bell BAP, 60 lb injectors
-Custom Air intake
-Full AFCO coilover kits
-Moser 9"
-19x9 and 20x12 Forgestar CF10s with Pirelli tires
-Wilwood 14" brakes front and rear
-lots of other stuff....

Sorry for the short videos, but not much pavement to play with. It's crazy haw loud this car is! It sounds like there is a microphone recording from the car, yet the audio you hear is from the camera.

Was that headlight setup a kit? It is a lot better looking than other offerings I have seen.

That's custom, baby!! Check out the build thread. It's pretty insane. Nice work and glad to see it on the road.

They are totally custom headlights, and the main reason this car wasn't done 3 years ago!

Thanks guys, it is starting to feel good. There have been sooooo many little issues that pop up at the very end that it almost takes all the wind out of my sails. I can kind of see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Looks and sounds great. You may want to consider a 2nd pump with your boost/power goals before hitting the dyno.

good gosh, 12 rib setup, worried about slip? haha.

It has been a long time coming for sure with that car. Sounds great. What are you expectations with the car? I'd assume well into the 7xx's? I just got done with a stock short block but H/C/24x LT1 with a D1 and it made ~640whp. Obviously you've got more cubes so I assume high rolling for sure. I'm curious as well, why the 6300 rpm redline? We spun ours to 6800+ if I remember correctly.

12-rib is a basic option for the procharger kit. For the LS kit, the inlet is flipped the other way so they are limited on pulley size (8 rib IIRC). If you can add more ribs to avoid slip, why not right?

As for RPMs, I'm spinning mine with the F1A to 6500 or so.

Engine bay covers are done, for the 2nd/3rd/4th time...

Getting so close to calling the car done, until I tear it apart again!

It was all done on a 9k mile 97 SS, needless to say he doesn't drive it much. However a short-block is in the plans for sure.

I just did a kit on an LT and I guess after the belt got to be an inch thick I just stopped counting. haha.

That is just wicked! Love the strut tower bar and the charger up top like that. You should look into a new shroud. We did one and I had it coated (the car was black so we went with black) really played out nicely. Obviously you're no stranger to clean lines.

No way that 255 pump is keeping up with the power that car should make. Id get that addressed before you window the block!

Nice work!

How much HP is everyone thinking I'm going to make? All of the research and calculations I did says that the racetronix 255 with the Kenne Bell BAP and 60 lb injectors will support 700ish RWHP. That is the max amount of HP I expect/plan to make, that is the limit of the fuel system/lines and transmission. I cannot even hold the throttle much past 3/4 for any amount of time since the car just rips up the tires, I will struggle to ever reach the max hp level.

You want some headroom on your fuel system and 700rwhp on a single 255 is not a good idea. You did a lot of great work on the car, hate to see you pop the motor over something rather simple like a fuel system.

agreed 100% especially seeing as it could potentially ruin that awesome paint/fab work you've done if it does south in a hurry. I forget what Blackbird did, but we went with a Lonnie Performance setup. Quality plug and play setup. Stock fuel lines and rails.
