What gears for my setup?
I haven't posted on here in awhile due to putting my LT1 project on hold for the past two years but within the next week or so, I should finally have it on the road but I still need to get the setup of what I want dialed in.
My mods are in my signature. I'm just wondering what you guys think would be the best gears for my setup? And what rear tire size I should run with them to get the most out of the gears? I'll be going with a set of 15" drag wheels at some point. This will be a 1/8th track only car as there are no 1/4 tracks around me so I was originally thinking 3.73s but I'm curious if 4.10s or even 4.30s would be beneficial for me?
I'm really just super excited to talk about the car again and looking for an excuse to do so to jump back into the LT1 world lol any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a quick video of when we got it running back in 2014

If you are wanting to gear it for the track then do so where you reach power peak at the traps while in your 1:1 gear. I'd go Hoosier 27X10.5 on a 15" wheel. That'll be all the tire you need and they are DOT approved. If you want to run on the street with 26" street tires then at most you'd probably want to go is a 3.73 gear.

track only...1/8 mi. 4:10's on a MT ET 26 x 10 on a 15" rim.
if you run a 27" tire you could go 4:30's
I don't run 1/8th so you may be good with the 4:30's period. As SS RRR notes ideally you want to cross the big end at peak rpm/HP.
