Default Lt1 timing sounds off/ runs rich

Hi everyone i was wondering if you guys could give me some trouble shooting tips for trying to figure out what is wrong with my car. It is a 1994 camaro z28 A4. The trouble i am having is that there is a weird vibration at idle/ timing sounds off. The car also smells very rich at idle and i can smell it inside the car with the windows down. i also noticed on the intake there is a 1 inch metal tube coming off of it where i'd assume a hose would connect to. The wire harness is also very butchered/taped up with a few connectors not connected to anything on it. I basically have no history on the car. Thank you for all the help in advance.

Fix what you know is wrong. Then go from there.

Also, some pics would help.

If the car had an EGR delete done that would explain the loose connectors and why it is running rich. I know mine runs a little rich with the EGR delete because I am still on the stock tune, this would also explain a check engine light.

How would i be able to tell if the egr system has been deleted? The check engine light sometimes comes on at idle but it hasnt other than that. When i got the car it came with an extra pcm, alternator, and intake manifold.

My Check engine light turns on and off like you'res also. An egr delete would explain the open nipples on the intake manifold. They should have been capped off, look for a smog pump and a catalytic converter underneath the car. I'd get a code reader to pull the codes.

Yeah i checked and my car definitely has an egr delete done. Yeah the nipples are capped off. what are all the connections/tubes that are supposed to be connected to the intake. im still trying to figure out the open tube on the intake.
