Default Need Advice for Adding Nitrous to 383 LT1 Stroker

Hoping someone can provide us sound advice on the use of nitrous on my 383 stroker. My engine has all forged internals, roughly 11.25 compression, LE 3 heads, 36 lb. injectors, 4.10 gears and RPM Level V auto trans. After going through a lot of frustration, I finally have gotten the car to run consistent 11.80s at 115 despite only managing 60 ft times of 1.80 to 1.90. If I can get the car to hook up better, I'm pretty sure that as-is she can run 11.50s if not better. I'd like to get the thing to really fly and am considering adding a 100-150 shot of nitrous, but I don't know a damn thing about it. A couple of questions ... (1) how much can I expect to improve my current ETs with a 100-150 shot, (2) how much can I expect to spend on a good nitrous setup, (3) would using nitrous require any additional internal engine mods, (4) what are the typical changes that need to be made to the tune (chip) when using nitrous with this type motor?

Thanks ........ WS

Well while I was running it on a mostly stock motors(my 08' mustang and my 95 lt1 vert) research taught me what most considered to be a safe shot without a retune. Remember all things change a bit depending on how much timing you've added to your stock tune, with that motor I'm sure its been messed with.MY understanding was that a wet kit up to 120 is pretty safe without tuning on close to stock timing/stock bottom end. The thing with the lt1, for me, was making sure I had enough f/p for both injectors and the fuel solenoid. I'm not SURE if I needed to worry about the Camaro as it showed good psi but the car was old so I put a walboro 255 in it. I don't know what you have for a fuel system but it is something to consider.

Now on to the system. If you want a complete kit I think the better one is the nitrous outlet plate kit they have 52 and 58mm kits to fit whatever you've got. I used a universal wet nozzle kit on my old cars and it worked fine but on my current build 95' Z28 355 stock crank, forged rods and pistons I'm getting their plate and adapting my parts to it.

150 shot will get you down in the low 10s if you have the tune spot on too do it. I ran a 355 lt1 with le2 heads , xfi280 cam , 4l60 with a mvb, 4:10s in a stock 10 bolt and a Hughes 3400 stall converter. Car ran 10.8 all day , and gained nearly 2 full seconds from motor too nitrous ! With the appropriate tune, fuel, it's very well possible for a 150 shot too put down over 200 at the wheels .

I also forgot to add that I have a plate kit with a few bells and whistles, that I'm getting rid of .there would be some extra parts you would need to pick up , to make it look pretty , such as a hardline kit or brackets made for the lt1, but the 3 solenoids, all fitting ,lines , switched, bottle , warmer etc would definitely work . If interested I'll post some pictures
