Been away for a while...time for an optispark
Well it seems its that time again. My opti is crapping out on the high voltage side...no DTC codes. Car is missing like crazy especially in the rain. Might have gotten six years out of the current one.
So what are the options today? Are you guys getting away with a cap/rotor replacement or is the entire unit needed? Where are you guys buying genuine quality stuff from?
Thanks

24x swap and be done with it lol
I hear you can buy just the cap/rotor parts and rebuild your current one. Some just toss in a whole MSD unit. I also hear to take the new one apart and make sure to loctite the screws.

It punches you in the wallet but the ACDelco's coming off Rockauto are worth it IMHO. Interesting, I just pulled up the part for the link above and the picture seems to show the 4-pin connector is heat-shrink-wrapped now.

He has a 95 so he would need a vented optispark. I checked on rockauto and they have a remanufactured ACDelco for $386.
