Default question about LT4

I just bought a 1993 chevy 1/2 ton with a TBI 350, will the LT4 conversion package work with this? I am looking to get more power and a little bit better gas mileage. Thanks

Unfourtunately, this package will NOT work with your Chevy 1/2 ton. The LT4 conversion package is for the Gen II SBC (LT1, LT4 engines). These are only found on the 92-96 Vettes, 93-97 F-bodies, and 94-96 B-bodies (Caprice, Impalla). The Gen II SBC has a reverse cooling system (the coolant goes to the heads first then the block). The coolant ports are located differently than on Gen I SBC. In addition, the distributor (optispark) is driven off of the front of the engine via the cam. The LTX cam will not work on a Gen I SBC.

I would suggest going with some Vortec heads IMHO. These heads don't flow quite as good as LT4 heads, but do flow about the same as LT1 iron heads slightly better than aluminum LT1 heads.

What about the Fleetwoods? Ie, D-Body.

Yup, she's the LT1 350. 260 horse at 5000, or 5200? I forget. 330 torque at 2400. And the evil Opti-spark.
