Depends on what you want to do with the car. Do you plan on all motor? Or pumping the gass into it? Or super/turbo charger?

Hey, getting rid of your 3.23's? And would that fit in my 96 Fleetwood?

A common choice is 3.73s for an automatic

The Fleetwood has a 8.5" axle and probably 2.93s out back(3.43s a towing option), the f-body used a 7.625 axle, so the gears will not fit, for that small a change in ratio it wouldn't be worth the effort either. I just put 3.42s in my Caprice, nice imporvement over the 2.93s and still civil even at high speeds.

On the f-body question, forget the exact ratio of the th350s first gear but I believe it is less than the 4L60Es 3.06, so just putting that tranny in you are losing a little launch gearing. If the car is going to be fast enough to make it worth swapping out the OD tranny then maybe you need to consider the combination of trap speed/stall/tire height/projected rev limit, then you can look and see just how aggressive you can get with the gears.

I agree that is a common size. I went with 3.89s

Not even a 2.93. I'm currently a 2.56 rear end. Regular Fleetwood, not the Fleetwood Brougham.

the th350 is like a 2.56 i thought? not too sure. but im told it is lighter plus my a4 is old and needs rebuilt and a th350 with a good stall is cheaper than the 700 and most cases stronger. but im thinking the th350 route, with 3.73's with around a 3500-4000 stall . "new motor being built". what do you guys think??
