Default Idle question

Hi guys I have a question for you. For what ever reason my car normally idles at 1000-1400 rpms, i'm not sure what a normal lt1 idle is but to me that seems a little high. Recently my check engine light went on so I took it to autosone to get it scanned, it came back as the idle sensor or something being off, the guy at autozone said that i might have a vacumm leak and told me to spray some carb cleaner around the engine bay and see if the motor does anything. I sprayed some around and I didn't notice any changes in the motor, do you guys have any ideas? Oh yea, the car came with an Accel 300+ racing ignition. I'm not really to up to date on ignitions so i'm not sure if that might be the problem. The only thing I know is that it makes a wierd buzzing sound sometimes. Sorry if this is a dumb question but i've only had the car for two weeks and am still learning the "v8 world."

Thanks for your help!

Oh yea the cars a 1997 formula, if that helps.

You may want to try cleaning out your IAC http://shbox.com/1/iac3.jpg . And if that doesn't work, you may want to replace it.

Just pop it in. And make sure you clean the passage ways out. They may be dirty. How many miles on the car ??

Only 43,000, it's a 97 so I think it was sitting for a while.
