Default Delteq and timing control

The Delteq guy said I couldn't use my MSD Digital 6 anymore with the Delteq. My nitrous timing retard is in the MSD box. He said the only compatible retard box is the Crane TRC-1, now out of production for the time being. Any suggestions? He said if I move the nitrous nozzle to the front of the MAF, my computer would retard the timing as necessary, reading it as extra air flow. Anyone have experience with this? Would it be ok to put fuel through the MAF since I have a wet kit? Would I have to adjust my timing tables in LT1 Edit? I would hate to fry my plugs or my pistons!

OK, I have found that MSD PN 8683 is a stand alone timing retard and should be able to work with the Delteq. Anyone use this unit?

If you can find one for a Caddy Northstar engine system then you should be good to go (according to their site that i read some months ago)

Hey that's good thinking. I might look into that.

You can use MSD DIS series boxes with Delteq for timing retard.

I ask him about that and he said it would work with it. I found that if the MSD-8683 would work, then I could save about $200. Have you actually used or know of someone using the DIS-4 with the Delteq?

I have the DIS-4 with the Delteq on my car. I also use the two step feature on the DIS-4 with my Transbrake setup. Works awesome! A bit pricey but worth the money.

How much did you end up paying for the DIS-4? I'm eventually going to have to go with a 2-step when the turbo is on.

TIA
