yes you can get away with only one cat. the problem will be making a system that has good bends to it yet only has one cat. theres not a lot of room with LTs on the car. youll need either two o2 bungs welded in after the cat or two o2 sims. id get the sims

I had the same idea back when I had my car. Some people said the cat would be a little too far downstream to work effectively (get heated up). you would need 02 sims tho, my OBD1 didn't give a crap what I did to it. IMO if you dont have any emissions testing, just leave the cats off. Or else just put two on, I doubt you'll notice any/much difference at all. Good luck!

when i bought my car, its a 97, it has only 1 cat. it has JBA shorties, to a y-pipe i'm not sure of, with a high flow cat welded in, to a borla catback. Car has all the 02 sensors, did someone say this would cause the car not to run correct?

i will prolly get the off road pipe and then if its too loud ill weld in 2 cats. i know taht right now with the GMMG it is loud as hell outside, which if its louder outside i dont really care. but i dont want it to get louder inside. right now it is just right, but i know if i would take the cats off it would be soo much worse.
